In what was supposed to be their season finale until rainouts pushed a game with Rye Neck to Monday the 23rd, Rye took on their bitter rivals Harrison on Saturday, pushing the season series to a tie with a 6-3 win over the Huskies.

After a back-and-forth game that saw about as much action as fans have come to expect from a meeting between these two teams, Rye sealed the deal with a two-run seventh inning to escape with a win. Kevin Turco went 4-for-4 at the plate with a homerun and four RBIs and also picked up the save for Rye, pitching a scoreless seventh in relief of Ryan Crawford.

This win, and Monday’s subsequent 2-0 victory over the Rye Neck Panthers, helped the Garnets pick up a seventh seed in the class A playoffs. They will play Thursday afternoon after press time.
