JV Baseball starts off 2012 Pre-Season with a win

It’s still early in the season but the JV Garnets began there 2012 season with a win over Edgemont.

“They are always tough” says Bruno,” we have to play hard for a full 7 innings.” On a cold, windy day, the JV Garnets did just that- posting up 9 runs on 13 hits. New comer Trevor Johnson went 2-2 and on the day while pitching 1 scoreless inning. Veteran Jay Little went 2-2 with a triple and RBI.

“It was good to see a mixture of success from the new and old players on the team, states Coach Bruno. This year the JV team has a 50/50 split of freshman and sophomores. “ I think it gives us stability now and for the future” suggests Bruno on the team makeup.

The pre-season continues for the JV garnets with a home game vs. Mamaroneck today and the last pre-season game of the season vs. Pelham tomorrow.  The official season starts off on April 4th vs. Rye Neck.
